Beholden
A lifetime, so it seemed, Brady continued to fail, always shy of perfection. Try as he did, with mallet and chisel, the stone resisted, fought his will to preserve his life’s love, to forever retain her physical beauty, his Sarah.
Daily he was reminded of being human, of being wholly inadequate.
How could she know the way she belittled him?
How she did mock simply by being uniquely and unattainably beautiful.
Once more, she stood before him, statuesque and lovely. In an impulsive and blind rage, a torrent of fury overwhelmed, and Brady embarked upon a new form of Art.
